Taking Stock #5 : Reading, Playing, Wearing, Thinking, Enjoying

The end of the month is nigh, people, and you know what that means – that’s right – time for another Taking Stock post!

Reading: “Yes Please” by Amy Poehler and loving it so far. Have you read it? Is it on your “to read” list?

Playing: with this little cutie! My sister and her fiance just got this kitten. Her name is Scout. I played with her a lot today and wanted to take her home with me. In my pocket. Because she would probably fit. But I didn’t. Next time…

Wearing: a cosy blanket. It’s that wonderful time of year again, people – blanket time! (Look at all the granny squares, Laura!)

Thinking: I might have to replant some of my cacti as they’re getting a little too big for their terrarium.

Enjoying: my latest polymer clay necklace designs. (Subtle plug is subtle.)

What has everybody been up to lately? What has been the best part of the month of March for you?

I squealed about three times reading this post so I hope that was the reaction you were looking for! Scout is adorable!! How did you not steal her? And Scout, what a cute name! I love your terrarium. I really need to put this on my to-do list. Maybe you could do a DIY post? How great are those granny squares?! Have you been crocheting in secret? I really love your latest lot of necklaces. There's at least two I want to buy, but have to pay for travel insurance and stuff like that first! I love this version of Taking Stock Jacquie. 🙂 looking forward to next months.

Haha yay for squealing! I had thought that might be the most common reaction to this post. Kittens are always a winner 😛 She is so freakin' adorable I can't actually handle it. I desperately wanted to take her home with me (apparently she sleeps on my sister's chest and it's like wearing a "furry, purring scarf") but I do love my sister so I couldn't quite do it.

Thanks! I love having the terrarium in my room. It helps to add a bit of greenery and life. (I have written a DIY post but I got an email saying you had commented on that post after writing this one!)

I haven't got round to the crocheting, no 🙁 I think this next weekend coming up might be the winner. Fingers crossed!

Oh I'm so glad you like the necklaces – that makes me so happy 😀 Love getting such positive, lovely feedback. I really love them myself and am pretty happy with them but there's always that voice in the back of my head that makes me wonder if I'm just being blindly biased.

Thank you so much, as always, for your wonderful comment, Laura! Makes my day 🙂

I'd have to say the highlight of my month was the Blog with Pip meet up yesterday! What a wonderful day. Yes please is on my reading bucket list for this year. At the moment I'm reading The Bone Clocks and I think it may take me a while. Your new colour combinations (necklaces) are gorgeous, clever you.

That's a very good highlight, Emily! It was a great way to end the month 🙂

Yes, "Yes Please" is taking me a while to get through – it's well-written and hilarious but I just haven't been able to squeeze it in a lot lately.

Aw shucks! Thanks so much – I really appreciate the feedback 🙂

    Thanks for stopping past! x

Can't tell you how happy I am to have found your blog Jacquie – it's so great! I just showed Steve the photo of Scout and we decided that when we get back to Melbourne we will get a kitten. TOO CUTE! I'm also inspired by your terrarium and cacti tutorial – I generally kill all my plants, but I think cacti I could probably manage. And having plants inside seems such a nice grown up touch to a home. Gorgeous clay beads and granny square rug too. x

Oh, Isabel, seriously, you're so sweet! Thank you! I'm so glad I've found YOU through the blog because your lovely comments make my day.

Haha yay! I'm glad I've been able to help spread the love of kittens. They're just so adorable.

Yep, cacti are pretty tough-going so you should be right with them. And terrariums are just such a great way to bring them indoors.

Thank you again for your lovely comment! x
