Taking Stock #3 : All The Prompts

I’ve decided to write a Taking Stock post each month this year! I think it will be a nice way to take a moment and be mindful of what’s going on around you and what you’re thinking. I also thought I’d mix it up a bit and use the complete Taking Stock list at the start, in the middle, and at the end of the year and do my usual shortened, photo-based version every other month in between. So here we go – finishing off the first month of 2015 with the whole shebang!

Making: a list of things I want to do today.
Cooking: nothing!
Drinking: Yakult. This stuff never fails to remind me of my childhood. Yay for probiotics!
Reading: Everyday Sexism by Laura Bates.
Wanting: more bookshelves.
Looking: like I need a shower.
Playing: Rye Whiskey by Punch Brothers.
Deciding: if I should try to learn to play the ukulele this year.
Wishing: every weekend was a long weekend.
Enjoying: some fresh strawberries and raspberries with my breakfast.
Waiting: to gather the energy to have a shower.
Liking: the idea of being on holiday.
Wondering: if I can fit in some baking today.
Loving: the gentle breeze coming through my window.
Pondering: if anyone else thinks that curtains reminds them of lungs breathing in and out when they move with the breeze.
Considering: tidying my room. Considering.
Watching: myself type this.
Hoping: the weather stays like this – not too hot, not too cold.
Marvelling: at how quiet my house and street are.
Needing: lots of quiet time like this to regroup.
Smelling: Lush bath bombs. What else. It’s pretty much all my room ever smells of. And I’m okay by that.
Wearing: comfy pyjamas and a pink fluffy dressing gown. Now, if I just had my hair in curlers and a few cats…
Following: a late night last night, I’m probably going to struggle to do things today.
Noticing: that my nails are breaking. As per usual.
Knowing: that I should really get up soon.
Thinking: I probably won’t.
Admiring: my honesty. I’m not going to get up anytime soon. Bed is far too comfortable.
Sorting: through my clothes in my head to see which ones I can get rid of.
Buying: no more books! No more! I have NO room left!
Getting: book-buying withdrawal.
Bookmarking: my favourite pages in Everyday Sexism.
Disliking: the fact that my terrarium seems to be attracting those teeny tiny little flying bugs.
Opening: and closing my hands to try and catch those little flying buggers.
Giggling: maniacally as I do so.
Feeling: vindictive when I catch one. Is that bad?
Snacking: on nothing at the moment. I only just had breakfast but I’m sure the snacking will strike right when I’m baking and there’s biscuit mixture up for grabs.
Coveting: my very own house in which to put nice things and make nice things and spend time with nice people.
Wishing: I could buy all the things from IKEA and put them in said house.
Helping: my interior decorating addiction by stalking Pinterest.
Hearing: morning birds chirping.

How are you all going? What have you been up to lately? Do you do your own version of Taking Stock? Perhaps mentally, in your own head every now and then?

I really am thinking this is the year for it but I've just got so much other stuff on that I don't think to spend any spare time learning how to play :/ I might have to change that! Thanks for the comment, lovely 🙂
