Taking Stock #1 : Wondering, Watching, Smelling, Reading, Marvelling

Hey there!

I love Pip Lincolne’s Taking Stock blog post idea. Having simple prompts and jotting down the honest answer or the first thing that comes to mind seems refreshingly simple. Today, I’m mixing it up a bit and picking a few of my favourites at the moment and making it photo-based. This is the first of many – I will keep doing more! Here we go!

Wondering: where the time has gone.

What have you been doing? Having an awesome weekend, I hope!

I too am wondering where the time has gone-Yikes. Love the blue sky gum tree photo. That book sounds interesting, what do you think of it? Your cacti are going to be glorious

  2. Pia

Wow look at those cacti – beautiful! Hope the book's good too – looks interesting

It is pretty scary, isn't it Jenny? Honestly don't know where this year has gone!

The book is good so far – a very honest account of acute mental illness (so a little graphic and confronting at times).

Thanks! This is the first spring some of them have flowered so I'm pretty excited! xx

"Madness" is really interesting. It's compiled from the author's personal point of view (the bits she can remember) and also clinician's notes. Well worth it to see what one person's experience of acute mental illness is like.

Thanks, Pia. I feel a bit like a proud mum looking at them haha! xx

  5. Deb Baker

This is a lovely taking stock post. I love the simplicity of it with the accompanying photos. Yes – where has this year gone!!

  6. birdandfox

Aw, thanks Deb! That's exactly what I was going for so I'm glad it came through!

Tell me about it – I don't even want to think about Christmas but I think the shopping centres are forcing me too what with all the decorations and gift ideas. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's gone too quickly! xx

What a lovely idea – photo "taking stock"! I may have to borrow the concept, if that's ok? 🙂
And, yes, where does the time go??

  8. birdandfox

Of course, Anya, no worries! I'm glad you like the idea 🙂

Judging by the comments, it seems we're not the only ones who are wondering where the time went! I'm glad it's not just me. I'm not ready for it to be Christmas time yet!
