A few weeks back, it was my anniversary with Mr birdandfox (awww). We were at a bit of a loss as to what to do for it so we decided to go see some fairy penguins at Phillip Island (AWWW). Unfortunately, though understandably, you’re not allowed to take photos of the little penguins as they waddle their way up to the safety of their homes. But I still managed to capture some nice shots because beach and such. Enjoy.
It was oddly peaceful watching the penguins wash up on the shore, find their feet, and then toddle off to their nests. You saw the faster swimmers appear first, but there was always one straggler in each group. And they always waited for the slow pokes to catch up before they started making a move. I couldn’t help but wonder how weird we must look to them. These weird tall things, all rugged up in the cold, sitting and pointing excitedly at them as they just do what they do at the end of every day when they can no longer see well enough to fish.
Mr birdandfox was a big sweetie and surprised me with a huge-ass bunch of flowers he’d grabbed in his usual morning market trip. How pretty. And when I say huge-ass, I mean it was a BIG bunch. I had to divide it up into two separate vases, which just meant I got to spread the prettiness throughout my home.
How lovely. Without getting too sappy, I do feel incredibly lucky to have met Mr birdandfox. I wouldn’t be writing this blog if it weren’t for him, encouraging and supporting me all the way. He’s also excellent tech support. Cheers to wonderful people.
