Nice Things #5

Nice Things #5

It’s the first week of May and that means it’s time for me to throw some nice things in your face…in a nice way…

  • Still want to bring more greenery into your life? How about these cute DIY planters for some cacti or succulents? Which one is your favourite?
  • Not so fussed about the plants? Okay. How about an ADORABLE bobbin stool?
  • That price tag a bit too much? Yeaaahh, I understand. Sticking with the sewing theme, this print is pretty darn cute and is much more affordable.
  • Do you like Of Monsters and Men? They’re an Icelandic band who sing amazing songs and I love them. Here’s a video where they answer questions from their fans. Even if you don’t know them, listen to it just for the accents.
  • Are you looking for something new to read? This book sounds pretty interesting to me. What do you think?
  • And finally, here’s a little infographic on the benefits of meditation. Plus, the article talks about the different types of meditation, which I didn’t even know was a thing. I’m hoping I can find two minutes per day to fit some in.

I hope this month’s list of nice things has helped to brighten your day or even just brought a smile to your face. What are you looking forward to in the month of May? I want to know!

P.S.
Bonus nice thing! A beautiful background on my laptop never fails to cheer me up. My favourites are by Oana Befort. Here is this month’s.

Yes, I thought so too! I just bought three other books though so I really shouldn't buy another :/ We'll see how long that lasts! Thanks for stopping past ๐Ÿ™‚ x

I can see that you love succulents! Those planters are all so funky. And how cool are the little wearable pots? Gosh. You are giving me too many ideas for when I get back to Melbourne and can really get into these things. Girl in the Dark book looks very interesting too…what a strange illness. That would be terrifying. AND the Oana Befort picture is already gracing my desktop background. What a wonderful idea, something pretty for each month. I really love your Nice Things posts, Jacquie. They show me things I would never have heard of otherwise. Those botanical and bird images you posted last month are AWESOME and are now printed out and stuck on my walls here in China. The man at the printing shop also commented on how lovely they were – so you're having an influence in China too! And finally – what am I looking forward to in the month of May? Learning more Chinese. My Mum coming to visit. Having Steve back from Shanghai to stay. Trying new foods. Blogging. Taking photos. So much to look forward to! Hope May is an excellent month for you too xo

Haha I really do love succulents, yes! I have run out of room for any more really, so I can't wait till I move out and can go a little nuts. I'm sure Mathew will love it/I don't really care, I'm doing it anyway.

Thank you so much for your lovely words, Isabel! It means a lot. I really enjoy collating things for these posts – I look forward to writing them every month. And oh, how exciting to hear the printing shop man likes the prints! Haha I'm practically taking over the world. I still haven't printed them for myself yet actually – need to get onto that.

Your May sounds delightful, Isabel! Especially your mum coming for a visit. I hope you have a lovely time and thanks again for stopping past – it's always so lovely to read your comments ๐Ÿ™‚ x
